Because of its location, getting to Eastbourne can be a pain if you're coming from the north as you have to pass London. By coach, change at London (cheap but it takes

forever). By train, from Victoria station in London (takes about 1.5 hours) with South Central Trains. By air, the nearest airport is Gatwick which is about 1 hour away by train. By road, the main approach is on the A22 (Junction 6 off the M25).
