Eastbourne is a small seaside town on the south-east coast of England.  It is reknowned for having one of the oldest populations of any British town, as it is a

favourite retirement spot due to its climate which is one of the most agreeable in the country. In the summer this all changes, however, as the town is flooded by thousands of young foreign language students. I taught there for two summers and got to know this strange little place quite well.
